Made the old “About Me” post private but I feel like I still need a way to properly welcome people to my blog so…

Hi! On this blog you will find lots of different fandoms, and also the beautiful fluffy creatures known as cats. Please don’t follow me for TUA because you’ll be disappointed. I reblog pretty fanarts because I love the characters but I never watched the show in its totality because it was too intense for me. So the most I’ll do is reblog pretty fanarts, but you won’t get more than that.

One Direction is my forever fandom and I will still blog about them and all of their solo efforts (except Liam. I’m done with him. He’s a tool). But more frequently you will see other things.

If it’s queer and it’s a children’s cartoon, you’ll probably see that (The Owl House, She-Ra, Steven Universe…). If it’s queer and a children’s live action you might see that too (rip to Julie and the Phantoms).

If you are a blank blog I will block you on sight because I don’t know if you’re a real person or a bot, so please just reblog *something* (you don’t have to add anything to it!!! just reblog it so I know you’re a person!!!). Can someone please explain to me why Gillian Anderson is transphobic? I’ve seen a couple replies on posts saying that people need to stop idolizing/ worshipping her because of it, but I haven’t seen any actual posts detailing what she said/did that makes her transphobic.

She made a twitter post comparing herself to an intersexist and transmisogynistic trope of a character called Old Gregg, just “fortunately no mixed up downstairs” (which is pretty cissexist and harmful to say about intersex and/or trans people’s genitals).

At a panel at New York Comic Con, she made a cissexist/transphobic remark about genitalia, referring to a character’s genitals as a ‘mangina’.

And then there’s her appearing in not one, but two blatantly transmisogynistic episodes of X-Files (the most recent in the reboot), when she absolutely had enough leverage to make some small fixes. Not like they could do a reboot without her, so she could have flexed muscle. instead, it was immensely transmisogynistic/transphobic/cissexist/etc. hard to look past that when she claims to be a supporter of women’s rights, and wrote a book called “WE: A Manifesto for Modern Women”. Guess trans women don’t count. Some sisterhood.

As for her anti-sex work stuff, it’s in large part her white feminist approach to sex trafficking that is based on and promotes a lot of SWERFy ideology. There’s been a lot of talk among sex workers about how bad her approach to sex work is. One example here

What we know about the missing Sub

For whatever reason this story has absolutely grabbed my attention, and so I will be compiling the information that I can confirm in a decent timeline of events, feel free to message me if y'all feel like something needs to be changed/revised

• A company known as OceanGate offers dives to view the wreck of the Titanic, charging 250,000 USD per ride. This sub is not approved by any regulatory body, and is controlled with an xbox controller. The inside is a small tube one would have to sit down to fit inside.
• It is not a regular sub, but a submersible, which does not have the power to lauch itself and return on it's own, but instead must be launched and retrieved by a mothership. Thus, constant communication is of the utmost importance.
• 4 AM, June 18th, an expedition begins. Confirmed passengers are a pilot, a "Content Expert," Businessman Hamish Harding (who posted the linked instragram post,) and two other passengers who are as yet unconfirmed.

• Communications with the sub are lost 1 hour and 45 minutes into the dive.
• The US and Canadian coast guard begin working together to try and find the sub. The vessel has an advertised 96 hours of oxygen.
• The instagram post earlier is found by CNN, although they do not yet divulge who posted it. They reach out to OceanGate for comment and get none.
• An additional vessel is dispatched to assist in the search.
• The US Coast Guard holds a press conference where they discuss the difficulties in locating the vessel in the remote area it dove into.
• Coast Guard surmises that there is 70 to 96 hours of oxygen remaining, although this was reported abt ten hours ago, so it's more like 60 to 86 now.
• The coast guard also begins a twitter thread which they are continually updating. They have completed two flights over the area but have not found anything, they will dispatch another plane in the morning.
• OceanGate claims to be taking "every step possible" to recover the missing vessel.
• Twitter user Kenny Sharpe realizes that he had seen the vessel being towed out to it's expedition and posts photos that he took.

• LITERALLY FOUND THIS AS I WAS GETTING SOURCES, Daily Mail claims that the other two passengers are businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son, but given DM's dubious journalistic integrity (to put it nicely,) I would take this claim with a grain of salt until other sources confirm it.

• The controller piloting the sub was found to be a 3rd Party Logitech Wireless Controller costing $40
• The company has stated in the past "Everything [on the sub] is done with touchscreens and computers"
• 10k Square Miles of the water have been searched. The Coast Guard is going to have another press conference soon.
• We have confirmation that Shahzada Dawood and his teenage son are on board the vessel. As well as the CEO of OceanGate. I'm personally assuming that he is taking up the slot normally reserved by the "Content Expert," and the last unidentified passenger is the pilot.
• There is roughly under 40 hours of oxygen remaining

• The controller the vessel uses, while mostly reviewing favorably, has multiple lengthy 1-star reviews complaining about issues such as regular loss of connection, unresponsive analog sticks, and dated drivers that no longer receive updates.
